Mein Schiff

Another cruiseship victimized by desperate marketing-bobo’s. This is Mein Schiff, in english that would be My Ship. As you may have determined from the name: the marketing of this ship is focused purely on the German market. Do you know how they decided to name this vessel?? No?? let me explain: They held a countrywide competition to see who came up with the best name……and from all the thousands of entries they went for “Mein Schiff”, My Ship….how original! I do wonder how bad the rest was.
To add to the misery a very-smart marketing-dude thought it would be wise to paint all kinds of words on the sides, words that would tell you something, words to allure you into a holiday-mood. And I went through the effort of determining what is written on her sides. here we go:
On Stb:
Gastfreundschaft = Hospitality
Fernweh ?? = Homesick
Meeresrauschen = Rustle of the Seas
Ruhe = Rest / Quietness
Dolphine = Dolphins
Mitternachtssonne = Midnight sun
Sonnenaufgang = Sunrise
on PS:
Sterrenhimmel = Starry Sky
Wohlfuhlen = Feeling well
Traumstrande = Dream beaches
Fahrtwind = Airstream / Turbulence (because of the ship making way)
Fliegende Fische = Flying Fishes
Fremde Lander = Strange Countries
Seeluft = Sea air
As you can see the words are all a bit…..naff?? To me it looks like a frustrated teenager has been on a rampage with a permanent marker and written his frustrations-of-the-day on one of the walls of his parents house. What a disaster!!
The best view of this ship, although that’s relative: her arse, complete with a nice swantail!!
A) because there is no ugly graffiti on there & B) Because that means she is pulling away from you, dissapearing out of your sight!!
