Build :  1979, Todd Shipyards Corp., Galveston Division, U.S.A., nr 56 as Apache

It looks like a giant (& failed) rollercoaster has crashed on this ship and pushed the bridge to one side. But nothing is less true or exciting. Its actually designed like this. It might be useful, workable, etc, etc but pretty it aint!

And that was before they did some modifications!

See pic below for a picture before the awfull boxes on the bow were added (still as Stena Apache).

    I was Marine Chief Engineer on this vessel when it worked in Australia in 90’s. It was certainly ugly but had beautiful EMD V20 2 stroke turbocharged and supercharged engines. From memory the only cabin with a porthole to look out was the Master’s. Still, even ugly ships make a nice home if they keep you dry and safe.
