I’m not a footballfan, not at all…just don’t get it. But as there are a few footballfans around on this world (understatement-alert!) and it is Sunday, traditionally a footballday I thought I would give honors to these 2 vessels.

Let’s start to say that the actual designs of the ships aren’t really head turners but as there are hundreds of these around it’s not really special anymore. No, it’s just about the paintjobs, they are hideous! Obviously the owners are big footballfans but why on earth would you paint your ships in the FC’s colors?? Especially the Borussia Dortmund must be a hell of a job to paint!

Other interesting questions are:

What will happen if you arrive with one of these ships in a port which is the hometown of a opposing FC??

How will a crewmember feel if he is a die-hard fan of an opposing FC and has to board one of these ships??

Do they have have hooliganisme on board??

  1. clive says:

Is this the modern version of wartime dazzle paint?
Or is it to make shipspotters think there are three ships comming at once?

  2. seabart says:

Actually….I have never looked at it that way. might be a subject for a next article! thnx!
