Build : 1963 by Caledon Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Dundee, UK, nr ???

Don’t you love good old England?? Where else would they keep relics like this still going? To be honest, keeping these ships working is probably a better way of conserving them than laying them alongside somewhere and keeping them as a static display.

There are 3 of these rather unusual & a bit grotty looking ferries, the one pictured above and 2 sisters: the John Burns & the Ernest Bevin. 45 years old and still working, still going strong, and the ride is still free for everybody.

There are plans for a bridge close to the ferry terminals site, making the ferries abundant, which is quit a sad ending for these workhorses.

But, Damn! The view and the scenery will improve sooo much when these 3 anomalies are gone!
