DMS Blackbird

IMO : 9524504

Build: 2008 by Damen Shipyards, Hardinxveld  in the Netherlands, nr 1599

Damen Shipyards: a Dutch shipbuilder with yards all over the world, their strength is standardized ships off all types and shapes and they can’t build them fast enough. Usually their ships are reasonably esthetically pleasing but with this one, a pushertug 3511, they have gone wrong somewhere, somehow.

She is going to be used as a pushertug, pushing big sandbarges in the Arabian Gulf for a Dutch dredging company. And as she had to be multi-functional: she can tow as well.

Unfortunately her accommodation looks like something that has gone wrong in the bakery. It is totally out of proportion relative to the hull and is about to fall over backwards.

And they are building 5 more of these things.
