RheinEnergie

IMO : n/a

Build : 2004 by ???

A German partyboat sailing over the river Rhine, sponsored by a giant energy-concern (hence the name). She can be used for a lot of things but where the designers paid a lot of attention to the usefulness of the interior of vessel they failed to draw a esthetically pleasing exterior. Party on people, but only for those on the boat, the people around her turn away in shock & horror!

There is one good thing about the fact that this ugly vessel seems to be popular: the more people on board, the less people are revolted by the sight of her. And: more people on her decks mean that her lines are blurred and less displeasing.

well, this is nothing that people cannot fix. Say, two or three times her passenger capacity.

ach! es tut mir leid. As a deckhand, the specter of even one person going in the drink gave me nightmares.

Ok—so, say that two or three times RhineEnergie’s passenger capacity are swimmers who use this boat as a launchpad to swim in a highly publicized event which spurs action to make the Rhine, the Elbe and the Danube clean enough to drink from. Swimmers all make it, RhineEnergie is a hero, the waters are happy. Everyone happy.

Boat design: less said, the better (even though it is too late.)
