Beija Flor

Build : Who knows…….

Yachts, there are a lot of them on this widewide world and to differentiate yourself from your neighbours in the marina and to stand out amongst the crowd you have to do something special…..something very spcial. And the owner of this sailingyacht did. I have no idea why he painted the hull in a very distinctive camouflage pattern but he did anyway. And probably to prevent him being blown out of the water by armed forces who mistook his yacht for a terrorist warship he painted a hugh peace-sign on it as well…….All that is a bit too much for my sensible senses and I now have to go to bed with a terrible migrain.

BTW: Beija Flor is Portuguese for Hummingbird……it’s all getting a bit weirdly mixed up. Especially seeing that she is flying the German flag.

Update (13-08-2009)

Further investigation lead me to the following:

This yacht participates in the EuroRock Peace Full Sail, more information to be found here, here and here.

  1. fooman2008 says:

personally the pink camouflage is what makes it work so well. He ought to be joining the MS Steve Irwin, he will blend right in with them

  2. seabart says:

I don’t think they want to be associated with those id**ts…….

  3. CaptainDon says:

This Boat has been parked at Cape Marina in Port Canaveral For about 6 month. I will get a picture of the matching Cadillac.

  4. bowsprite says:

the pink camouflage did not work: they did flag down the coasties for a little visit/chat. Something about a big peace sign that troubles our security/law enforcement agencies…

  5. seabart says:

I really wanna see the pic of that Cadillac!!

The Sailing Vessel Beija Flor departed New York on the 15th Aug bound for the Canaries with 3 persons on board. The vessel is reported overdue and information or sightings about the vessel should be sent to, the vessel may have encountered hurricane Bill on her passage.
