Floating Foonboats

No, that’s not a misspelling, that’s me trying to be funny…….now is a good time to start laughing, thank you. We have seen these tugs with mini-wheelhouses here before, both of the above have been stars in their own post: Svitzer Redbridge & Waterstad.

Telecom companies of the world: please check below pictures for some of your missing phone-boots as they might have been used as Foon-Boats!

Svitzer has nicked a few old English phone-boxes and disguised them by slapping some beige-ish paint on:

This one is very special: look at the position of the funnel!

And the very last one, probably the prototype of all the above tugs as this one still has the original red phone-boot color:

And I do think it’s a marvelous technical achievement to cramp all the necessary equipment in those little wheelhouses and still have enough room left for a human being to be in there as well AND survive.
