A beautiful name but what a ugly ship hides behind that name! This is a real giraffe-neck tug but then with a complete house on top of the neck! This makes the tugs featured in this post look up in envy! I can not believe that my fellow countrymen build this thing like this so I guess there must be pictures out there with her looking better: without the tree-hut on top.

Besides looking ugly: look at the last picture: I guess you better wear oxygen-masks up there as you probably will be gassed out by the exhaustgasses! Good design!
saya sebagai pelaut saja melihat ini aneh?
bagaimana kalau lagi ombak besar?
bisa tambah parah muntahnya! belum lagi kalau kena asap dari cerobongnya!
muka jadi hitam!
he.he.he…
This vessel was originally “MT Guarsdmen” with siter Tugs Linesman and Winchman. I was working for Mirrless and she was one of my first jobs as a Marine Service Engineer in 1980 to check some con rods. They looked a lot better in those days.
I rebuilt her startboard main engine in Bilbao after a crank failure, while they stuck on the tree house as you say. The following sea trials were wicked – even the Cheif Engineer was sick!
Fond memories, nice to see the pictures.
