Seiju Maru no 21

IMO : 8313491

Build : 1983 by Yamanishi – Ishinomaki in Japan, nr 897 as Hamazen Maru no 63

I can’t find any more pictures of above monstrosity and I’m pretty sure that is a good thing! A Japanese fishing boat she is but looks more like a … a ……. like a…..I don’t know, can’t find the words for it. Just plain ugly then, is very simple!

    Looks like they had a junk ship in mind, but only got the junk part right. Traditionally the Japanese have been known for their their unseaworthy and ugly boats. They weren’t even allowed to build seaworthy vessels during their isolation period by royal decree. Hence the migratory pattern of Japanese to the american pacific northwest. Those were all near-coast fishermen lost at sea and carried by the north pacific current.
