SBX-1

IMO : 8765412

Build : 2002 by Vyborg Shipyard – Vyborg in Russia, nr 101 as Moss Sirius (hull only)

Converted : AmFELS yard – Brownsville & Kiewit Yard – Ingelside, both in the USA

This thing looks like a giant Easter Bunny put an Easter Egg on a unused semi-submersible rig, probably as a PR-campaign to give his popularity a boost and surpass Santa Claus in the polls.

For your information: she is located in Hawaii at the moment and can track something the size of a baseball over a distance of approx 2900 miles.

She still is looking strange, very odd and maybe a bit disturbing………….and don’t forget ugly as well.

At night she even looks a bit spooky:

  6. Scrawny Kayaker says:

Right now SBX-1 is in the Strait of Juan de Fuca north of Port Angeles, making 7 knots supposedly bound for Seattle. She was making only 0.5 knots a few minutes ago, so they must have just taken on a local pilot.
