Visby

Pennant nr : K31

Build : 2000 by Kockums AB – Malmö in Sweden, nr ??

This vessel looks quit a bit similar to one we have seen here before: HNoMS Skjold, but then a bit expanded in all directions. The ship’s design is heavily emphasized on  “low visibility” or stealth technology. And damn, as with the Skjold I really did wish that instead of undetectable to RADAR they also had made it invisible to the human eye.

This one does even look more like a cheap toy than the Skjold.

Also she and her sisters have quit a distinguishing paintjob, or rather indistinguishably as they try to cloak themselves with it. Unfortunately it still isn’t enough for us humble humans to not see it.

I believe the paint job is a carry over from WWII when subs targetted via periscopes.

As far as the angular surfaces, think F-117. Someone once questioned the ” stealth” characteristics of the USS Long Beach. The Beach was built in the 50’s. Can we say “progress” ? How about “advancements”? Get a clue. But then again, maybe you don’t even suspect!
