Seaspan Greg

IMO: 6420484

Build: 1964 by Allied Shipbuilders, Vancouver in Canadia, nr 142 as Greg Yorke

At one time, SeaBart featured the pug-nosed Seaspan Doris, and stunned us with the stockiness of her design. That, however, was the last we’d heard of Canada’s Seaspan, until now. Like we’ve proved before, some shipping corporations just seem to let ugliness run in their blood, and Seaspan is among them.

Really, there isn’t much to this vessel, and that’s the problem; what is there only serve as ugly components. In all reality, it seems her construction could stem from a someone having an old barge, a box-girder bridge, and the accommodation from a container vessel lying around, and decided to jerry-rig them together into one vessel.

Add some railroad track to the deck, a motor, and a corny-sounding name, and voila, you have the Seaspan Greg.
