The latest Must-Have Accessory for the super yacht owner of the modern times is an separate boat to carry their big-boy toys and extra crew to the ports where the superyacht is bound. With a fancy name these support boats are called Yacht Escort Ships…pretty cool he?
For some reason the preferred vessels to be used as a base for these socalled Yacht Escort Ships are old offshore vessels. This one is no difference, she started live as an Offshore Support Vessel named Rosanna Hebert. She was later converted to a crab fishing vessel and got world famous in the Discovery Channel show “Deadliest Catch” when she was called Fierce Contender.
So from OSV to FV to YES…..quit a career!
In her first 2 lives she was just an honest, modest working boat, nothing special or peculiar about her. The looks of her in the beginning of her third life-phase were already a bit doubtful to begin with, but then they gave her a bit of a make-over…….and that went a bit pearshaped :
Oh dear…………………
More info about her can be found here on yachtforums.com or here on their dedicated website.
BTW: this is the ship she is “escorting” : the JeMaSa
Looks much better!
Update (12-04-2010)
Found another picture that shows the catastrophe that has been done to her.
Yup……looks Lopsided on top for sure!

On board she`s a beautiful Yacht! Whats that about beauty is in the eye`s of the beholder
